Questions to Ask Before Purchasing a Vehicle Lift

Where is the lift and all components manufactured?
Buying a lift with American made parts ensures that if you have a service question or problem, or need to order parts, that you will be able to get in touch with someone when you need them. Not to mention you are supporting the economy when you buy U.S. made.
What kind of warranty is offered with the lift?
Mohawk Lifts has a 25 year warranty on all two post lifts and a 10 year mechanical warranty. Before you purchase, make sure to investigate specifics (such as the warranty) just like you would before buying a car.
For stability, how large is the base (footprint) of the lift?
The base of the lift provides all of the stability and helps distribute the load to the shop floor.
Does the lift have adjustable overhead hydraulic lines or an overhead shutoff/piece of sheet metal?
Be aware of how much room you have in your shop for your lift, which includes the overhead shutoff that can limit lifting height. Stainless steel hydraulic lines can be set at any height, or set in the floor, for low ceiling shops.
How long are the swing arms to get under low riding vehicles?
Before purchasing a lift, you should determine if the swing arms allow you to lift a range of vehicles, from larger trucks to low riding cars. If you are servicing vehicles, the wider range of vehicles you are able to take in for repair, the better.
